On the 10th of May, we had a talk on the topic “Reviving Our Hearts” during our qiyam at school.
As students, there are many reasons that causes our heart to be weak which then causes our iman to increase and also decrease. What causes our heart to be weak as students? Sometimes the iman in our heart can be like a roller coaster that is sometimes at the top but sometimes at the bottom. We are in control of our hearts and so we are challenged to keep our iman stable. Some might ask, why is our iman unstable?
Most of the time, we forget to put Allah SWT in our heart and we don’t think about being someone that is God-conscious. Once Allah SWT is in our heart, Syaitan will not be able to enter. We need to have the mindset of which in whatever we do is for the sake of Allah SWT.
Some of the ways we can put Allah SWT in our heart is to ensure that we obey Allah and Rasul. If anyone wants to love Allah, they have to love and follow Rasulullah SAW because he is the door to loving Allah. Allah will also test to see if we are consistent in obeying Him during our ups and downs. When we have a black dot in our heart and repent to Allah, it will be removed, but if we continue to do the sins that caused the black dot, it will continue to take over our heart and it will then become a black shield preventing us from loving Allah.
Without a doubt, it is difficult for us to just put Allah SWT in our hearts. Therefore, it is supposed to be a challenge for us to see if we will keep on hugging this Dunya, the world that we're living in. For example, we get disappointed when we only get 5 likes for our Instagram post after one hour, this shows how we are still holding on to this Dunya. Hence, we have to slowly focus more on our Deen (religion) instead of the Dunya.
هذه الدنيا مليئة بالعديد من التحديات التي لا يمكننا أن نواجهها بأنفسنا. لذلك بالنسبة لنا، من المهم أن نجعل قلوبنا قريبة من الله لأن بدونه قد نتعلق روحنا بالدنيا وحدها، وننسى الآخرة وديننا. ومع ذلك، لا يكون وضع الله في قلوبنا أمرًا سهلاً، ولكن علينا أن نبذل جهدنا من خلال القيام بأعمال صالحة مختلفة مما يلي:
تأكد بأننا نطيع الله والرسول
ونتعرف على أعداء ديننا (الشيطان، النفس، الدنيا)
ونفصل أنفسنا ببطء عن هذه الدنيا
